Day 1 - Heading east

Set off early from Kampala (or Entebbe) passing through Mabira Forest and over the River Nile, the longest river in the world. Don’t worry; you’ll be stopping off here on your way back! You’ll continue east and up into the foothills of Mount Elgon, an extinct volcano, which straddles the Uganda/Kenya border to reach Sipi Falls. You should arrive at around midday, in time to settle down for your lunch overlooking the main waterfall. In the afternoon you’ll meet your guide who will take you off on a coffee processing tour, through the farms and along the hillsides. You’ll pick, prepare and roast your own coffee beans; hopefully resulting in a tasty cup of coffee! Coffee is widely produced in the region and an important source of income to local farmers. You’ll end your day by taking a short stroll up to the viewpoint on the ridge to watch the sunset over the plains west into Uganda before dinner.

Day 2 - Hills and waterfalls

This morning you’ll be heading out on a guided three-hour walk to explore the set of three waterfalls that make up Sipi Falls. Your guide will be able to explain the formation of the falls to you. They will also be able to identify the local birds, trees and plants along the way and describe the local traditions of the people living around Mount Elgon. In the afternoon you are free to relax and enjoy your surroundings or there are a number of activities that can be arranged for you (for an additional cost*). Sipi falls has a wide variety of birdlife and you can go birding with a knowledgeable guide to take you to the best spots. You can also take the chance to go fly-fishing on Sipi River with all equipment available for hire and tuition available on request. And if you’re more of a thrill seeker, there are a couple of options for you to enjoy such as rock climbing and abseiling along the side of Sipi’s highest waterfall’s 100 metre drop!

Day 3 - Source of the Nile

This morning you’ll be leaving Sipi Falls behind you and start the return journey back to Kampala (or Entebbe). After a few hours you’ll reach Jinja town where you’ll be stopping off for lunch beside the River Nile. You’ll then take to the water to the source of the world’s longest river on at the edge of Lake Victoria. After your boat cruise, you’ll be crossing back over Owen Falls dam and through Mabira Forest where you should keep your eyes peeled for red tailed monkeys, and a complete your journey back to Kampala (or Entebbe) arriving by dusk.

Full Board Option

Our budget tour options do not include food. This is because some budget travellers prefer to take their own food with them in order to help manage their budgets. We can however add a ‘full board option’ on a per person basis if preferred.

If you would like to add a Full Board option to your tour, please contact us for more information.

Grade 5 White Water Rafting

Tackle the mighty River Nile and its grade 5 white-water rafting! Rafting in Jinja, East Africa Adrenalin capital is not for the feint hearted. At least be prepared to get a little wet! But with qualified instructors and an excellent safety record it’s a ‘must do’ challenge of the River Nile.

If you would like to add this activity to your tour, please contact us for more information.

Kayak the River Nile

Challenge yourself to the biggest volume kayaking trip on the planet! A specialist tandem kayak guide will take you down all of the Nile’s grade 5 rapids in a double white-water kayak. If you roll over, just hold on and your guide will roll you back upright!

If you would like to add this activity to your tour, please contact us for more information.

Nile Sundowner Cruise

Relax as the sun sets over the River Nile and the heat disappears with a Nile Sundowner Cruise. You’ll pass hippo pods and crocodiles as you sip on cold drinks with fresh appetisers.

4×4 Supercustom

This tour is based on using a Supercustom. On safari in Uganda, you need vehicles that you can rely on, vehicles with as much comfort as we can provide to make your journey a happy one! The 4x4 Toyota Supercustom is a practical option for group safaris as they offer space, comfort and are reliable vehicles. Each vehicle can comfortably seat eight clients as well as a driver and an extra seat for when we hire additional guides and rangers. They perform well off-road and have pop-top roofs for that intimate experience with nature in the parks. As a conscientious business, we chose this vehicle, as it is kind to the environment; running on diesel with low consumption. This is therefore our standard touring vehicle.

Please note this tour is based on your being collected and dropped off in either Kampala or Entebbe. For other locations please contact us for a quote.

Upgrade Option – Classic VW campervan

The classic Volkswagen Campervan is our signature vehicle. It’s how the company started with its intrepid founders who wanted to test something a little unconventional. It worked! These Campervans were manufactured in Germany and bought to Uganda in the 1970’s. We currently own three Campervans that run trips over a large amount of the country. Clients need to bare in mind that these vehicles were not designed for off-roading. All of our drivers are certified VW mechanics and fix the odd hiccup. We won’t let you miss an activity but we do advise you to appreciate that there may be a few short stops along the way. We added the Toyota’s as some of our clients require speed and air conditioning but if you’re up for an adventure, you might want to consider something a little quirky. Each vehicle seats six around a table and has an MP4 jack (3mm amp) and a subwoofer to blast those 70’s tunes!

For price quote please see "Prices Tab". Please note prices are based per car hired and on pick up and drop in Kampala or Entebbe. For other locations please contact us.

Upgrade Option – Landcruiser with pop top

Some clients simply prefer a Landcruiser on their safari! They are after all the conventional way to travel on safari. Like the Super Custom, they offer comfort and reliability. They offer more intimacy for small groups of two to four clients and are optimal for single travellers. With their pop-up roof hatches, they give you up-close and personal interactions with nature.

For price quote please see "Prices Tab". Please note prices are based per car hired and on pick up and drop in Kampala or Entebbe. For other locations please contact us.
